This independent archive has been created to preserve publicly available information, eyewitness accounts, photographs, videos related to the events that took place during the CJP protest on 20 July 2026 in New Delhi.
 

Our objective is to ensure that digital evidence and first-hand accounts remain accessible for journalists, researchers, lawyers, human rights organizations, and the public.

About the Movement

What Happened

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) emerged in 2026 as a youth-led protest movement focused on concerns about India's education system, particularly repeated examination paper leak allegations and demands for greater accountability. The movement has attracted students, educators, professionals, and supporters from multiple states.

The movement gained national attention after activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protests with a hunger strike and after large demonstrations were held in New Delhi and other cities.

 

Protesters have demanded reforms in public examinations, accountability for alleged irregularities, and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. 

On 20 July 2026, thousands of students, their families, and CJP activists gathered in Delhi for a planned peaceful march toward Parliament.

Police used barricades, tear gas, and baton charges to prevent protesters from reaching Parliament. Protest organizers stated that more than 1,400 people were injured and alleged that excessive force was used during the operation.

Protesters also alleged that police used lathi charges against demonstrators, including women and some individuals reported to be under the age of 18.

​

Several women alleged that they were subjected to inappropriate physical contact and that their clothing was torn during the clashes. Videos circulating on social media appear to show some of these incidents.

Our team is working to organize and upload publicly available photos, videos, and other relevant materials as quickly as possible. Our goal is to create a searchable archive that allows journalists, researchers, legal professionals, human rights organizations, and the public to access these materials in one place.
 

New evidence will be added on an ongoing basis as it is received, reviewed for compliance with our submission guidelines, and organized for public access.

Where appropriate and with your consent, we may create a dedicated page for your case that includes:

If sufficient interest exists, we may publish information about relevant public petitions or legal initiatives, together with guidance on how individuals can participate. Participation is entirely voluntary.


Our aim is to preserve evidence, document first-hand accounts, and help ensure that individuals who believe they were affected have a place to securely record and organize their information.
